Support for EyesWeb Users

Our news server news://infomus.dist.unige.it provides several public newsgroups.

Please note that these newsgroups, their content and all related material are provided on an "as is" basis, as a means of discussion, exchange of ideas, bug reports and workarounds, etc. for the whole EyesWeb community, but are by no means fully supported by the development staff. Bug reports, enhancement proposals etc. will be considered and may be incorporated in future releases. Also, no e-mail support is provided.

There currently is no archive since all messages from all newsgroups are still available online. Please check your news client for settings which control download behaviour, i.e. "Delete messages after n days" in Outlook Express.

To keep all messages in OE 5 or later, choose Tools|Options, then click the Maintenance tab and be sure to clear both "Delete read message bodies..." and "Delete news messages..." checkboxes. To download again all messages, set each newsgroup's synchronization settings to "All messages", sync once and then set everything back to "New messages only". Please note that other news clients may have different settings.
 

The available groups are:

• eyesweb.announce
  General announcements (new releases, fixes, etc.) or availability of tools and utilities.

• eyesweb.bugs
  Bug reports, workarounds.

• eyesweb.discussion
  Exchange of ideas, proposals, uses of the system, etc.

• eyesweb.install
  Discussion of issues related to EyesWeb install and setup procedures on different systems.

• eyesweb.libraries
  Announcements and discussion of current libraries, new blocks and patches from the user community, etc.

• eyesweb.patches
  Exchange of patches and related material. 

Please keep attachment file sizes small, using standard archiving utilities, and limit file formats to RTF (Rich Text Format), Adobe's PDF and plain-text (ASCII) for documents and .EYW or .DLL for EyesWeb patches and libraries.
